The “4plus1” concept is the core of the submission. Here visitors can optimally experience how explosively the old sea floor nature develops and witness the profusion of plant and animal species that this process yields.
Four clearly distinguishable development stages in the area, from water to willow forest, are showcased within a context of a clay landscape with ever-present grazers. The building design was the result of a total concept for landscape exhibition and design. The water roof near the dike, the intertwined building plan with landscape display cases and the technical lookout tower together make up the portal that allows visitors to immerse themselves in the world of the “new wilderness.”
